Features

The South West FRCR courses are sensibly designed revision courses for candidates sitting for the 2B part of the FRCR examinations.

The courses are run 2 to 3 weeks before the actual examination so that you get maximum revision and practice before sitting the FRCR 2B.

Most of our consultants have been involved with us for a very long time and we have assessed them every time to ensure that the quality of cases you are shown reflects the level needed to pass the FRCR 2B Vivas. They are trained on giving feedback which candidates have repeatedly told us is one of the highlights of our courses.

The course aims to coach you in all three aspects of the exam ie the rapid reporting, long case and Viva sections. It is designed such that each candidate sees at least 8 examiners in each course. We have 24 rapid reporting packets and 8 sets of long cases with model answers provided to help you get the most out of the course. The rapid reporting and long case sections are self timed to give you finish the packets at your own pace and allow you to see a huge number of cases over the course days.

We use the most modern equipment for electronic reporting sessions to simulate the actual exam conditions. We use Apple Macs with HOROS software for the Vivas.

Along with rigorous practice for rapid reporting, long cases and vivas, we also show you how to approach the examination, techniques to use and current examination marking guidelines.

We understand that good food is an essential part of attending a course and we ensure that you get a hot meal and adequate refreshments throughout the course.

We realise that there is only so much that you can do during a onsite course. We have therefore partnered with the best online portals for rapid reporting and long cases so that you have access to upto 90 packets of rapid reporting and 25 long case packets if you subscribe to one of our packages. We are confident that these will be enough practice to give you an edge in the examination.

Revise Radiology was started by some friends of ours and what they excel in they offers the most detailed analysis of your performance currently available. Want to know if you overcall too many normal films? Perhaps you have a tendency to misdiagnose? They can help you to improve by highlighting your weaknesses. They track which questions you get right and which you get wrong and provide immediate feedback. They compare your average performance against the other users of the site to help you focus your revision.

FRCR Scholar is a relatively new website but has the largest collection of good quality rapid reporting packets that we have found. Their Analyse tool helps you track your progress and compare your performance with your peers. Analyse allows you to smartly breakdown your performance, identify patterns of weakness to help you strategize your revision. Fifty snappy Power Review tutorials developed to help you sharpen your observation skills and improve your diagnostic yield.

FRCR Long Cases uses DICOM file, just like in the real exam. You can view the full sequences through their integrated viewer, on any device. Their built in timer helps you track your speed. You can Submit your answer for each case directly onto the website. Cases cover the radiological sub-specialties encountered in the exam

On our platinum programme you get 6 sessions of 1:1 Coaching with a trained co-active coach.

Co-Active Coaching is an experience of personal and professional development unlike other kinds of coaching. Based on the Co-Active Model, it begins by holding the coachee as naturally creative, resourceful and whole, and completely capable of finding their own answers to whatever challenges they face. The job of a Co-Active Coach® is to ask powerful questions, listen and empower to elicit the skills and creativity a client already possesses, rather than instruct or advise. Co-Active coaching uses an array of proprietary tools developed by The Coaches training Institute that have been proven as the gold standard over the past 25 years of the coaching profession.
